There is no age limit, but an applicant must have obtained his or her most recent degree in the last five years in the case of an application for university studies or in the last ten years for college studies. International Development Research Centre (IDRC)
IDRC funds and administers a number of award programs to Canadians and developing country nationals in the field of international development.

Research Associateships
The National Research Council (NRC) offers Research Associateships tenable only in its laboratories. These associateships are intended to give promising scientists and engineers an opportunity to work on challenging research problems in fields of interest to NRC as a stage in the development of their research careers.

The Sauvé Scholars Program
The Sauvé Scholars Program was established in November 2002 by the Jeanne Sauvé Foundation. The Program is a unique opportunity for highly motivated people of demonstrated leadership potential, who are under the age of thirty. They come to Montreal where they have an opportunity to enlarge upon their understanding of the state of the world and their potential in making positive change to it.

Under the terms of an agreement with McGill University, the Scholars are given open-door access to all courses and programs at McGill. Scholars audit whatever classes they wish. However they do not write exams nor do they earn academic credits.

Each scholarship is worth approximately $30,000CDN. It includes the cost of transportation to and from Montreal, food and lodging while here, group excursions and certain other expenses.

Complete application forms must be received by December 31st.

Visiting Fellowships in Canadian Government Laboratories
This program is administered by the National Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) on behalf of Canadian government laboratories. It provides promising young scientists with the opportunity to work with well-established research groups and leaders in their fields in federal research laboratories.

Please note that some Government of Canada Programs are administered by universities and agencies on behalf of the Government of Canada.
